Laurie L. Catey, P.E. founded L.L. Catey Engineering Services in 2003 after nearly 20 years with a large Architectural/Engineering organization. The independent firm specializes in building commissioning services for a wide range of clients and project sizes, including institutional, commercial, and residential markets. Laurie has been involved in projects ranging from creating bid requirements for commissioning the Nation’s first LEED Platinum project, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation HQ Building in Maryland, to performing commissioning on Birmingham, Michigan’s first green home, a single family residence laden with green building strategies. Laurie participated in the ASHRAE Seminar on Sustainability 2007 and in presentations for the Construction Owner’s Association of America (COAA) and Michigan Association of Physical Plant Administrators (MIAPPA), and she is very active in the Building Commissioning Association (BCA). She served as President of the Central Chapter of the BCA in 2006 and is currently the Regional Representative to the National Board of Directors of the BCA. She is also a member of the Standards Committee and is on the special Retro-Commissioning Best Practices Sub-Committee. L.L. Catey Engineering Services, LLC is committed to sustainable design and green building principles as demonstrated by the firm’s project selection and efforts towards raising the quality level of providing commissioning services. L.L. Catey Engineering Services is in the process of being re-certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) with the State of Michigan through MDOT and in the Wayne County Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise Program (MBE/WBE Registration). The firm is also re-certifying as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) in Wayne County. L.L.
